leaving do

hello again,

We have just organised our leaving do, which you are all welcome to attend. It’s a bit of an informal afternoon – evening drink, but we’ll put some food on for you! Even if you can only pop in for 10 minutes to say hi, it would be lovely to see you. I will be sending a load of invites out this week so don’t worry if you haven’t heard from us yet..

Its on Sunday 15th July in a lovely pub with a beer garden and verandah, but I won’t publish details here just in case we get overrun by gatecrashers after some sausage rolls!! Get in contact tho’ and I’ll send you an invite.

We actually decided to go off to New Zealand in the first place whilst drinking Staropramen in their beer garden, so it’s nice to round off the plans there!

Hi peeps, sorted the tickets today,  we are leaving 19 July to the ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’, not big grey ones full of rain that hang round the pennines. Yipee !!!

*Edit*  We are going via Los Angeles, and get to spend a whole 8 hours there in the airport! we have to fly from Heathrow cos we got a really cheap deal, so we will be spending a night in a travel lodge I think!

Hello!

Welcome to Lost in New Zealand- and our first post, which is mainly to say ‘Hooray, they finally gave us the visas!!!

We thought the immigration people would give us a temporary ‘ work to residency’ visa, where we would have to prove we were employable within 12 months of getting there.  It seems, however that we are so great ;) they have given us permanant residency. That means we are officially half- kiwi now!

So whilst you’re here, get used to the layout and comments section, I’ve given you a brief idea of what this blog is all about in the ‘what’s this then’ section. We’d love to hear from you, even though we haven’t left the UK yet!

The plan is to book our flights as soon as possible, and probably leave in about 3 weeks, I’m sure we’ll see you all before that time, and we’ll try to make this place a bit more intersting in the meantime.

Gill and Mark
