Welcome to Lost in New Zealand- and our first post, which is mainly to say ‘Hooray, they finally gave us the visas!!!
We thought the immigration people would give us a temporary ‘ work to residency’ visa, where we would have to prove we were employable within 12 months of getting there. It seems, however that we are so great 
they have given us permanant residency. That means we are officially half- kiwi now!
So whilst you’re here, get used to the layout and comments section, I’ve given you a brief idea of what this blog is all about in the ‘what’s this then’ section. We’d love to hear from you, even though we haven’t left the UK yet!
The plan is to book our flights as soon as possible, and probably leave in about 3 weeks, I’m sure we’ll see you all before that time, and we’ll try to make this place a bit more intersting in the meantime.
